Family Reunion Brings Relief: Snehalaya Reunites Missing Man with Family After Three Months

Manjeshwar, March 15, 2026: In a compassionate act of service, the team of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Kasaragod, under the guidance of Br. Joseph Crasta, successfully reunited Mr. Biran Kumar (real name Virendra Kumar) with his parents, wife, and daughter after he had been missing from his home in Rania, Tehsil Akbarpur, Kanpur Dehat District, Uttar Pradesh, for about three months.

Mr. Biran Kumar was rescued by the Snehalaya team from Central Railway Station, Mangalore, where he was found wandering in a vulnerable condition with poor personal hygiene, self-talk, self-smiling, and wandering behaviour. He was picked up and admitted to Snehalaya on January 9, 2026, for care, protection, and psychosocial support.

According to his family, he has a history of mental illness for about 10 years, and treatment had been ongoing. Before the onset of his illness, he was working as a tailor. His family had also lodged a missing complaint when he went missing.

After tracing his family in Rania Post Office, Kanpur Dehat District, Uttar Pradesh, the Snehalaya team successfully reunited him with his family on March 13, 2026. The family, villagers, and neighbours responded very positively, expressing happiness and gratitude.

At the time of reunion, two months of medicines were provided, and the family was guided about mental health care and treatment follow-up. The family shared that he is now in far better condition.

This reunion once again highlights the humanitarian efforts of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Kasaragod, under the leadership of Br. Joseph Crasta, which continues to rescue vulnerable individuals, provide care and rehabilitation, and reunite them with their families.

ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕಾನ್ಪುರ ದೇಹಾತ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅಕ್ಬರ್ಪುರ ತಹಶೀಲಿನ ರಾನಿಯಾ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಬಿರನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ (ನಿಜ ಹೆಸರು ವೀರೇಂದ್ರ ಕುಮಾರ್) ಅವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಬಳಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದು, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ, ತಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡುವುದು, ತಾನೇ ನಗುತಿರುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಅಲೆದಾಡುವ ವರ್ತನೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ 2026ರ ಜನವರಿ 9 ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮನೋಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು.

ಕುಟುಂಬದವರ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಕಳೆದ ಸುಮಾರು 10 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಕೂಡ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುವ ಮೊದಲು ಅವರು ವೃತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ದರ್ಜಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ಕುರಿತು ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ನಿರಂತರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕಾನ್ಪುರ ದೇಹಾತ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ರಾನಿಯಾ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಆಫೀಸ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಿ, ಕೊನೆಗೂ 2026ರ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 13 ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮರುಸೇರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಯಿತು.

ಆ ಕ್ಷಣವು ಕಣ್ಣೀರಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತ ಭಾವುಕ ಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು, ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಹಾಗೂ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

ಮರುಸಂಗಮದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳ ಔಷಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮುಂದಿನ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಆರೈಕೆ ಕುರಿತು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಈಗ ಅವರು ಹಿಂದಿಗಿಂತ ಬಹಳ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಸಂತೋಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
