Man Found in Distress at Manjeshwar Bus Stop Admitted for Care

Manjeshwar, February 19, 2026: A man identified as Mr. Aslam Basha, a native of Kumbar Beedhi, Nagamangala, Mandya, Karnataka, was found in a vulnerable and distressed condition at the Manjeshwar bus stop . He appeared emotionally disturbed and in need of immediate psychosocial support.

Mr. Aslam Basha was reportedly experiencing symptoms suggestive of Thought Disorder Symptoms (TDS) along with a persistent depressive mood. His mental state indicated difficulty in organized thinking and emotional regulation, making it unsafe for him to remain unattended in a public place.

It was Mr. Badhrudeen, an auto driver, who noticed that he was not merely waiting at the bus stop but was in visible distress and required assistance. Demonstrating social responsibility and compassion, he informed Br. Joseph Crasta, who immediately initiated steps to ensure timely intervention.

Upon receiving the information, the Snehalaya team, under the leadership and guidance of Br. Joseph Crasta, promptly reached the Manjeshwar bus stop and ensured his safety. He was brought under protective care and formally admitted to Snehalaya on February 16, 2026, for further medical evaluation and psychiatric assessment.

Currently, Mr. Aslam Basha is receiving supervised care, including mental health evaluation, counseling, medication management, and structured rehabilitation support in a safe and supportive environment. The primary focus remains stabilization, emotional support, and planning for family tracing and reintegration where appropriate.
