From Silent Wandering to a Tearful Homecoming: Snehalaya Reunites Lukhiram Soren with His Family After Three Years

Manjeshwar, February 02, 2026: Lukhiram Soren, a resident of Kadwa village in Baraghagri, Pakur district of Jharkhand, was reunited with his family after being missing for three long years, ending a painful period of uncertainty and bringing immense joy to his wife, child, and entire village.

The journey back home began on October 27, 2025, when a man—identified at the time as Mr. Lokindara —was found wandering silently near Bekur Bus Stand in a distressed and withdrawn condition. Based on information given to Brother Joseph Crasta, founder of Snehalaya, by a local resident Mr. Keshav Kulal , the Snehalaya rescue team immediately reached the spot and rescued him. The man spoke very little, appeared deeply depressed, and seemed unaware of his surroundings.

Recognizing the seriousness of his condition, the Snehalaya team admitted him to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre in Manjeshwar. Initial medical examinations indicated severe mental stress, though there was no history of mental illness. Due to his limited communication, his identity, family background, and place of origin remained unknown at the time of admission.

Through patient care, counseling, and sustained humanitarian efforts, Snehalaya later uncovered his true identity. It was revealed that the man initially identified as Mr. Lokindara was in fact Mr. Lukhiram Soren, son of Gangaamuni Hembram, from Kadwa village, Baraghagri, Pakur district, Jharkhand. Further inquiry confirmed that Lukhiram had left his village with fellow villagers in search of work and became separated and lost on the way.

Lukhiram had been missing for three years, leaving behind his wife and young son, who continued to hope for his return. After continuous efforts, Snehalaya, in collaboration with Shraddha Foundation, Mumbai, successfully traced his family, and on December 30, 2025, he was reunited with his wife and relatives at his native place. The reunion was deeply emotional, with family members, villagers, and neighbors expressing happiness, relief, and gratitude on seeing him safe after years of uncertainty.

This successful reunion stands as a powerful testament to the compassionate mission of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, which continues to rescue, rehabilitate, and reunite individuals who are homeless, distressed, or separated from their families.
