ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜನವರಿ 18, 2026: “ಎಲ್ಲರ ನಡುವೆಯೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಕಾಣದ ಬದುಕು.”
ರೈಲುಗಳ ಗದ್ದಲ, ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಓಡಾಟ, ಅನೇಕ ಮುಖಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯೆ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಒಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಮೌನವಾಗಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ. ಕಣ್ಣಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯ, ತುಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಮಾತುಗಳು, ದೇಹದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯದ ಗುರುತುಗಳು. ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಅಸ್ಲಾಂ ಬಿಹಾರದ ಮಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದ ದೂರಾಗಿ, ಬದುಕಿನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡವನು.

ಜನವರಿ 9, 2026. ಅಸ್ಲಾಂನ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಪಡೆ (RPF)ಯ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂತು. ಇದು ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ವರದಿ ಅಲ್ಲ ಒಬ್ಬ ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪಿದ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಕರೆ.
“ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುವುದು… ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವ ಮೊದಲ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ.”

ಆ ಕರೆ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ಟಾ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕ್ಷಣವೂ ತಡವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಂಡ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ಲಾಂನ ಕೈ ಹಿಡಿದು, ಗಾಬರಿಯಿಂದ ಭರವಸೆಯತ್ತ ಕರೆತರುವ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ರೈಲು ಹಳಿಗಳ ಗದ್ದಲದಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿ, ಅವನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ–ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಮಡಿಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ.

From Vulnerability to Care: Snehalaya’s Compassionate Intervention Ensures Safety and Rehabilitation for Aslam

Manjeshwar, January 18, 2026: Mr. Aslam, a native of Bihar, was safely rescued and admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre after being found in a vulnerable condition at the Mangaluru Central Railway Station.

The admission took place on January 9, 2026 , after Mr. Aslam was noticed wandering at the railway station exhibiting symptoms such as self-talking, wandering behavior, poor personal care, and tobacco use. The matter was first reported by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Mangaluru Central Railway Station, and the information was immediately conveyed to Bro. Joseph Crasta, enabling timely intervention by the Snehalaya team.

Responding promptly to the information received, the Snehalaya rescue team proceeded to the railway station and carried out the rescue operation. Mr. Aslam was safely transported to the rehabilitation centre, where, considering his mental condition and the urgent need for care, protection, and continuous supervision, he was admitted for further observation and treatment.

Following his admission, Mr. Aslam has been provided with basic medical care, close monitoring, and psycho-social support. Detailed assessments are currently underway to better understand his condition, background, and personal history. Efforts will also be initiated to trace his family members and facilitate a possible reunion.
