Mangaluru, January 12, 2026: Amuda (37 years), a native of Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, was safely rescued and admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre after being found in a vulnerable condition at the Mangaluru Central Railway Station.
The admission took place on January 07, 2026, after Ms. Amuda was noticed at the railway station exhibiting symptoms such as poor personal hygiene, decreased speech, and wandering behavior. The situation was first reported by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Mangaluru Central Railway Station, and the information was subsequently conveyed to Br. Joseph Crasta, enabling timely intervention by the Snehalaya team.
Responding promptly, the Snehalaya team reached the location, ensured her safe rescue, and facilitated her transportation to the rehabilitation centre. Considering her mental and physical condition and the immediate need for care, protection, and supervision, she was admitted for further observation and treatment.
Following admission, Amuda has been provided with essential medical care, continuous monitoring, and psycho-social support. Detailed assessments are currently in progress to understand her condition, background, and personal history. Efforts will also be initiated to trace her family members and explore the possibility of family reunion.
Under the compassionate leadership and guidance of Br. Joseph Crasta, Snehalaya continues its mission of serving humanity by rescuing individuals in distress and providing holistic rehabilitation services aimed at restoring dignity, safety, and hope to the most vulnerable.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜನವರಿ 12, 2026: ರೈಲು ಹಾದಿಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಅಲೆದಾಡಿದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳು, ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದ ಬದುಕು, ಮಾತಿಲ್ಲದ ನೋವು. ಒಂಟಿತನವೇ ಆಕೆಯ ನೆರಳು ಹೆಸರೇ ಅಮುದಾ ವಯಸ್ಸು 37. ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿನ ಕೃಷ್ಣಗಿರಿಯ ಮಣ್ಣಿಂದ ದೂರಾಗಿ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಅಲೆದಾಟ, ದಿಕ್ಕುತಪ್ಪಿದ ಬದುಕಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದವಳು. ಆ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಕರುಣೆ ಮೌನವಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ರೈಲ್ವೆ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಪಡೆ (RPF)ನ ಕರೆಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಹೃದಯ.
