Mangaluru, December 9, 2025: A woman identified as Kanakamla, aged 38, was rescued by the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre team from Mangaluru Central Railway Station after she was found wandering in a helpless and disoriented condition.
According to the information received by Br. Joseph Crasta, Founder of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Kanakamla was found with poor personal hygiene and was communicating in Malayalam. Initial assessments indicate that she is experiencing psychiatric symptoms and required immediate care and protection. Acting promptly, the snehalaya rescue team ensured her safe rescue and admission to the centre.
She was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Home for Women on September 20, 2025, where she is currently receiving medical attention, psychological support, and rehabilitation services. Efforts are underway to trace her family members to facilitate her safe and timely reunion.

ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 9, 2025: ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಗಾಬರಿಗೊಂಡ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ 38 ವರ್ಷದ ಕನಕಮಲಾ ಎಂಬ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ–ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ತಂಡವು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದೆ.
ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ಟಾ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಲಭಿಸಿದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಕನಕಮಲಾ ಅವರು ಅಶುಚಿತ್ವದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಮಲಯಾಳಂ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ತಕ್ಷಣದ ಆರೈಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಂಡವು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೇ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆ.
ಅವರನ್ನು 20 ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 2025 ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ–ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲು ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈಗ ಅವರು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಮನೋವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಸಹಾಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕುಟುಂಬದವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಮರುಸಂಧಾನಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
