Manjeshwar, November 06, 2025: In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and service, Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Kasargod, Kerala, successfully facilitated the reunion of Mr. Suresh, a native of Rayagada district, Odisha, with his mother and brother after being missing for three months.
Mr. Suresh, who has been living with a mental illness for over 13 years, was rescued by Fr. Louis Mariadas from Manjeswaram Railway Station on August 2, 2025. Following the rescue, he was admitted to Snehalaya for medical care, psychological support, and rehabilitation.
Due to a lack of awareness and access to treatment in his community, Mr. Suresh had not received consistent medical attention in the past. During his stay at Snehalaya, he was provided with two months of psychiatric medication and regular counseling sessions, which helped stabilize his condition. He was also guided on the importance of sustained treatment and mental health follow-up.
The reunion on October 30, 2025, was a deeply emotional occasion. His family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Snehalaya for their efforts in tracing, treating, and reuniting their loved one. The event was also met with overwhelming support and appreciation from the local community.
This successful reunion stands as a testament to Snehalaya’s enduring commitment to the care and rehabilitation of individuals with mental health challenges. Through their continued efforts, the organization continues to restore not just health, but also dignity, hope, and belonging to countless lives.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ನವೆಂಬರ್ 06, 2025: ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಪುನ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಒಡಿಶಾದ ರಾಯಗಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುರೇಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ನಂತರ ಅವರ ತಾಯಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹೋದರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮರುಸೇರಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಾನವೀಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವಾ ಮನೋಭಾವದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ.
ಶ್ರೀ ಸುರೇಶ್ ಎನ್ನುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಕಳೆದ 13 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. 2025 ರ ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 2 ರಂದು, ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸಂಗಡಿ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಫಾ. ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಮರಿಯದಾಸ್ ಅವರು ಸುರೇಶರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಮನೋವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸಹಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಾಗಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಊರಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ರೋಗದ ಅರಿವಿನ ಕೊರತೆಯಿಂದ, ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ದೊರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಔಷಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯಮಿತ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ಪಡೆದರು. ಇದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು. ಅವರ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.2025ರ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 30ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಾವುಕ ಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅವರ ತಾಯಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಹೋದರರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಜನರು ಸಹ ಈ ಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದರು.
ಈ ಮಿಲನವು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೊಳಗಾದವರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾವಂತ ಸೇವೆಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸೇವಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಅನೇಕ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಗೌರವ, ಭರವಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸದ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಮರಳಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.
