Manjeshwar, September 4, 2025: Tears of joy flowed as hearts were filled with emotion when Durgi, whose real name is Bisakhiya Devi, was reunited with her nephew and his wife after 14 long years. This extraordinary reunion was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Manjeshwar.
Bisakhiya Devi was found in a distressed condition at Mangalore Central Railway Station on June 3, 2025. She had a past history of mental illness and had gone missing many years ago. Shockingly, no missing complaint was filed at the time of her disappearance.
Her life has been a difficult journey. Once married, her husband abandoned her due to her illness. Tragedy struck again when her only son passed away, reportedly due to lack of proper care. Living with her parents, she eventually disappeared into the shadows of life.
However, on August 7, 2025, a long-awaited reunion finally brought immense happiness to her family. Relatives and villagers welcomed her warmly. Despite their poverty, her nephew and his wife wholeheartedly accepted full responsibility for her care. Snehalaya has assured continued support, including regular medical treatment and supply of medicines.
This is more than just a reunion it is the story of a lost life finding its way back into the light. It stands as a living testimony to Snehalaya Charitable Trust’s compassion, service, and unwavering commitment to rebuilding lives with dignity.
14 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ತನಕ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬಿಸಖಿಯಾ ದೇವಿಯ ಪುನ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆ
ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 4, 2025. ಕಳೆದ 14 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬಿಸಖಿಯಾ ದೇವಿ (ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ “ದುರ್ಗಿ” ಎಂದು ಪರಿಚಿತರು) ತಮ್ಮ ಅಳಿಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಳಿಯಂದಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮರುಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಫಲವಾಗಿ ಈ ಮರುಭೇಟಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.
2025ರ ಜೂನ್ 3ರಂದು ಬಿಸಖಿಯಾ ದೇವಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವರು, ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆ ಮಂದಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸದ ಕಾರಣ, ಅವರ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟಕರವಾಯಿತು.
ಅವರ ಜೀವನ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿತ್ತು. ರೋಗದ ಕಾರಣ ಪತಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದರು. ಏಕೈಕ ಮಗುವೂ ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ ದುಃಖವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬದುಕಿನಿಂದ ದೂರವಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಬಳಿಕ ತಾಯಿ-ತಂದೆಯರ ಜೊತೆ ಇದ್ದಾಗಲೇ ಅವರು ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೂ, 2025ರ ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 7ರಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬದವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಅವರ ಅಳಿಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೋದರ-ಅಳಿಯಂದಿರು ತಮ್ಮ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಿಯ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಊರಿನ ಜನರೂ ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಬಿಸಖಿಯಾ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನುಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಅವರು ನಿಯಮಿತ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ನೆರವು ಮತ್ತು ಔಷಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಸಮಸ್ತಿಪುರ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ಜೀವದ ಕಥೆ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಇಂತಹ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ ಜೀವಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಬೇಕಾದ ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಮರುಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಅವಿರತ ಶ್ರಮದ ಫಲವಾಗಿದೆ.
