Manjeshwar, August 29, 2025: With the support of the Kasaragod Women’s Police Department, 30-year-old Pramila was rescued from the Sakhi One-Stop Center and is now safely receiving care at the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Center in Manjeshwar.
During the rescue, Pramila was found in a distressed state and exhibiting poor personal hygiene, according to Kasaragod Women’s Police officials, who informed Brother Joseph Crasta, founder of Snehalaya. She primarily communicates in Hindi. Following preliminary assessments, doctors have indicated the possibility of mental health issues. She is currently receiving medical treatment and counseling.
Snehalaya staff are actively working to trace Pramila’s family. Efforts are underway to identify her background and reunite her with her loved ones. The public is requested to provide any information that may help by contacting 9446547033 or 7994087033.
Founded by Brother Joseph Crasta, Snehalaya has been providing rescue and rehabilitation services for the homeless in Mangalore and Kasaragod for the past 16 years. The organization offers medical care, shelter, and rehabilitation to those in need, regardless of caste, religion, or language.
