Manjeshwar, August 4, 2025 : Vikas Ram, a 31-year-old man, was joyfully reunited with his brother. Initially, Vikas had moved from Jharkhand to Mangalore and then to Puttur for work, accompanied by his wife and three children. One day, while he had gone near Hampankatte to buy milk for the children, he lost his way due to a mental disturbance. Unable to find him, his wife returned to Jharkhand with their children.

A few days later, Vikas Ram was found wandering in a disoriented mental state near the roadside close to St. Theresa School in Mangalore, where he was reportedly disturbing local nuns and the public. Based on information received from the police, the rescue team from Snehalaya promptly initiated an intervention.

Bro. Joseph Crasta and his team reached the location and successfully rescued him. He was then admitted to the Men’s Wing of the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre in Manjeshwar.

During his stay at the rehabilitation center, Vikas Ram received proper psychiatric treatment, counseling, and care. Initially, he exhibited symptoms such as poor hygiene, aggressive behaviour, self-talk, and auditory hallucinations. However, with time and treatment, he showed slow but significant improvement.

Vikas Ram’s journey to reunification began when he was found wandering in distress near Bendurvel. The Snehalaya team, led by Brother Joseph Crasta, promptly launched a rescue operation and brought him to the center. Despite initial challenges in identifying him, Vikas Ram eventually shared his address and phone number, enabling the Snehalaya team to facilitate a reunion with his family.

His brother received him warmly at the reunion, marking a joyous and emotional moment for both Vikas Ram and his family. The Snehalaya team played a vital role in tracing Vikas Ram’s family and facilitating the reunion. Vikas Ram is now back with his family in Ghure, Herhanj Post, Latehar district, Jharkhand.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 4, 2025 ರಂದು 31 ವರ್ಷದ ವಿಕಾಸ್ ರಾಮ್, ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷಭರಿತರಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಒಂದಾದರು. ವಿಕಾಸ್ ರಾಮ್ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡಿನಿಂದ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಪುತ್ತೂರಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮೂರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಲು ತರಲು ಹಂಪನಕಟ್ಟೆ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಧ್ಯಬ್ರಂತಿಯಾಗಿ ದಿಕ್ಕು ತಪ್ಪಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರ ಪತ್ನಿಯು ವಿಕಾಸ್ ರಾಮ್ ಸಿಗದ ಕಾರಣ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡಿಗೆ ಮರಳಿದರು. ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳ ನಂತರ, ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಂತ ತೆರೇಸಾ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನಸೀಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವಿಕಾಸ್ ರಾಮ್ ಅವರು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಧರ್ಮಭಗಿನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ತೊಂದರೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಂಡವು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾರಂಭಿಸಿತು. ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪಿದ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ತಂಡದವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮನೋಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಯ ಪುರುಷರ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
