Manjeshwar, August 1, 2025 : A 35 year old Hindi-speaking man, identified as Hari Chand, was found in a severely disoriented state, showing signs of mental distress near the Mulki–Surathkal Highway. He was first noticed by a local businessman, Mr. Kiran Karkala, who promptly informed Mr. Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya Charitable Trust.
Following the alert, a rapid-response team from Snehalaya quickly reached the location and safely rescued Hari Chand. He has since been admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Center in Manjeshwar for ongoing care and recovery.
According to a preliminary report from the Snehalaya team, Hari Chand appeared to be experiencing psychological distress and seemed unaware of his surroundings. He is currently receiving essential mental health care and support services aimed at stabilizing his condition and eventually reuniting him with his family.
