Manjeshwar, Kerala | June 25, 2025: On February 12, 2025, the dedicated team from Snehalaya Charitable Trust, led by Br. Joseph Crasta, rescued a vulnerable woman from Mangalore Central Railway Station. The woman, later identified as Sheharunnisa, aged approximately 55 years, was found wandering aimlessly and overdressed, displaying signs of severe mental distress. She communicated in Hindi and was immediately admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Home for Women, where she received compassionate care, psychiatric support, and rehabilitation.

Sheharunnisa had been missing for one and half years, with no missing complaint filed. Preliminary assessments revealed that she had been struggling with mental illness for over 10 years, which worsened after her husband’s death, leading to discontinuation of her treatment. She is a widow and has two sons, who had lost all hope of finding her again.

Thanks to the relentless dedication, compassion, and meticulous efforts of the Snehalaya team, a heartwarming reunion took place on June 25, 2025. Tears flowed as Sheharunnisa was embraced by her son, ending her long journey of suffering and loneliness. Her family expressed immense gratitude, stating they never expected to see her alive again. The villagers and neighbours welcomed her back warmly, with many emotionally acknowledging Snehalaya’s life-saving intervention.

This reunion stands as a powerful testament to Snehalaya and Shraddha Foundation’s mission of restoring dignity and hope to the most vulnerable. Their selfless service continues to change lives and reunite broken families, spreading humanity and compassion where it is needed most.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಕೇರಳ | ಜೂನ್ 25, 2025: 2025ರ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 12ರಂದು, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತ ತಂಡವು, ಬ್ರ. ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ಟಾ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸ್ಟೇಶನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ದುರ್ಬಲ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯೊಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು. ಆ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ನಂತರ ಶೆಹರೂನ್ನಿಸಾ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸುಮಾರು 55 ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಈಕೆ,ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೊತ್ತು ಗುರಿಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತಿರುಗಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು ಮತ್ತು ತೀವ್ರವಾದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಒತ್ತಡದ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಆಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸುತಿದ್ದು, ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗಾಗಿರುವ ಮನೋ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಗೃಹಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಗೆ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಶೆಹರೂನ್ನಿಸಾ ಒಂದೂವರೆ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು, ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾಣೆಯಾದ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ತಪಾಸಣೆಯಿಂದ ಆಕೆ ಕಳೆದ 10 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿತು. ಆಕೆಯ ಪತಿಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಂಡು ಅವರ ನಿಧನವಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಇದರಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಹದಗೆಟ್ಟಿತು. ಆಕೆ ವಿಧವೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಆಕೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಕಾಣುವ ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.

ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡದ ಅವಿರತ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ, ಕರುಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳಿಂದ, 2025ರ ಜೂನ್ 25ರಂದು ಒಂದು ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಆನಂದಭಾಷ್ಪಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶೆಹರೂನ್ನಿಸಾ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಂದ ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಆಕೆ ಭಾವುಕಳಾದಳು, ಆಕೆಯ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದ ದುಃಖ ಮತ್ತು ಏಕಾಂತತೆಯ ಪಯಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊನೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರತಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಕುಟುಂಬವು ಅಪಾರ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿತು. ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಮತ್ತು ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು, ಮತ್ತು ಅನೇಕರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಜೀವರಕ್ಷಕ ಹಸ್ತಕ್ಷೇಪವನ್ನು ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿದರು.
