A story of despair has turned into one of hope, healing, and reunion.
On June 17, 2025, Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for Women rescued a 48-year-old woman found in a distressed state at Mangalore Central Railway Station. Disoriented and unable to share her identity, she was admitted for psychiatric care.
With time and compassionate treatment, she revealed her name Ashma Begam, a native of Panna, Madhya Pradesh and shared her decade long struggle with mental illness, worsened by emotional challenges within her family.
Today, after 11 days of care, her husband Mr. Siddik Mohammad arrived at Snehalaya upon learning of her whereabouts. In a deeply emotional moment, the couple reunited following counseling and support.
The family will now return home, embracing a new beginning together.
This heartfelt reunion stands as a testament to the power of compassion, mental health care, and enduring family bonds. Snehalaya remains a beacon of hope proving that healing is possible, and every life matters.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ಜೂನ್ 28, 2025 ಆಶ್ಮಾ ಬೇಗಂ ಅವರ ದುಃಖದ ಕತೆಯು ಭರವಸೆ, ಚೇತರಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದ ಕತೆಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.2025 ರ ಜೂನ್ 17 ರಂದು, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಮನೋ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದುರ್ಬಲ, ಅಶಕ್ತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದ 48 ವರ್ಷದ ಆಶ್ಮಾ ಬೇಗಂ ಎನ್ನುವ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಗೊಂದಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದೆ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸಮಯ ಸರಿದಂತೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಕರುಣಾಮಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೈಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಅಶ್ಮಾ ಬೇಗಮ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಕೆಯ ನೆಲೆ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಪನ್ನಾದ ಸ್ಥಳ ಎಂದು ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸಿದಳು .ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾದ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ, ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಉಲ್ಬಣಗೊಂಡ ಒಂದು ದಶಕದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಸಂಘರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಳು. 11 ದಿನಗಳ ಆರೈಕೆಯ ನಂತರ, ಅವರ ಪತಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿದ್ದಿಕ್ ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಇರುವಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದರು. ಒಂದು ಮನ ಮಿಡಿಯುವ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲದ ನಂತರ ಈ ದಂಪತಿಗಳು ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನಗೊಂಡರು. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಈ ಕುಟುಂಬವು ಈಗ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ನೂತನ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಮರಳಲಿದೆ.
ಈ ಹೃದಯಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು ಕರುಣೆ, ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಬಂಧನಗಳ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಜೀವಂತ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯವು ಆಶೆ, ಭರವಸೆಯ ದೀಪಸ್ತಂಭವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಜೀವನವೂ ಮಹತ್ವದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
