Manjeshwar, June 9, 2025: A 50-year-old woman named Shakhila was rescued from under the B.C. Road bridge by the Snehalaya team, led by founder Br. Joseph Crasta, after receiving a timely alert from Mr. Geo D’Silva, Mr. P. A. Rahim (former Rotary Club President, Modankapu), and Mr. Basheer (Ogga).
Found in a distressed and disoriented state, Shakhila spoke Malayalam and showed signs of psychiatric illness. She is now safe at Snehalaya’s Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Home for Women, receiving the care and support she needs.
A heartfelt thanks to Mr. Basheer and his family for providing food for her in the days leading up to the rescue.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, ಜೂನ್ 9, 2025: ಐವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದ ಶಾಖಿಲಾ ಎಂಬ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿ.ಸಿ. ರೋಡ್ ಸೇತುವೆಯ ಕೆಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು, ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಶ್ರೀ ಜಿಯೋ ಡಿ’ಸಿಲ್ವಾ, ಶ್ರೀ ಪಿ. ಎ. ರಹೀಮ್ (ಮಾಜಿ ರೋಟರಿ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ, ಮೊಡಂಕಾಪು), ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಬಶೀರ್ (ಒಗ್ಗ) ರಿಂದ ಸಕಾಲಿಕ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ಪಡೆದ ನಂತರ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿತು. ಗೊಂದಲದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದ ಶಾಖಿಲಾ, ಮಲಯಾಳಂ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ಅವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಮನೋ-ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
