Manjeshwar: Hemram, a native of Fhatulapur, West Bengal, had been missing for nearly eight months. His sudden disappearance left his family in turmoil, prompting them to file a missing person complaint and launch an exhaustive search. Their prayers were answered on March 7, 2025, when he was rescued by Snehalaya Charitable Trust in Manjeswar, Kasaragod, Kerala.

The Journey of Struggle Life took a tragic turn for Hemram after the passing of his wife. Once a migrant worker, he returned home and took up agricultural work. But financial burdens mounted. In a bid to marry off his daughter and help his son secure a job, he sold his land—his only asset. Left with no livelihood, he sought work outside again but was soon diagnosed with tuberculosis. Unable to perform heavy labor, he was dismissed from his job. Misfortune continued as he lost all his belongings and gradually fell into a state of mental distress and disorientation.

A Joyous Reunion On May 11, 2025, the silence that had haunted Hemram’s household was broken. With the tireless efforts of Snehalaya Charitable Trust and Shraddha Foundations, Hemram was safely reunited with his family. His mother, overwhelmed with emotion, broke down in tears of relief and joy. The entire village gathered to welcome him back, their hearts full and spirits lifted by his return.

The reunion was not just a family event it was a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion, perseverance, and community. The dedication of the organizations involved rekindled hope and restored dignity to a man who had lost everything.
