Manjeshwar: Venkanna, a man with a history of mental illness since childhood, had been missing for six months before he was successfully reunited with his mother on May 5, 2025, through the dedicated efforts of Snehalaya and Shraddha Foundations. Following the death of his father, Venkanna’s mother had been his sole caregiver and had been tirelessly searching for him during his absence. His elder brother, who lives separately in a nearby village and earns a livelihood by selling fish, was also informed of the reunion.
He was rescued from near State Bank Street of Mangalore by Snehalaya team on 11 February 2025, given treatment and rehabilitation and transferred to Shraddha Foundation for the reunion process.
The trust visited the address provided by Venkanna and facilitated a heartwarming reunion with his mother, who was overwhelmed with joy and deeply grateful for the foundation’s efforts in bringing her son back home safely. The family’s response to the reunion was very positive, and the villagers and neighbors also reacted supportively. However, the family’s economic condition remains very poor.

This successful intervention not only brought immense relief and happiness to the family but also marked a significant moment of closure and healing, as Venkanna was finally reunited with his loved ones.

ಆಂಧ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಗೋದಾವರಿಯ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಮೀನು ಮಾರಾಟದಿಂದ ಜೀವನ ಸಾಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದ ಕುರಿತು ಆತನಿಗೂ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.ವೆಂಕಣ್ಣನನ್ನು ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 11, 2025 ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಸಮೀಪದಿಂದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡವು ವೆಂಕಣ್ಣರವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರು, ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಗೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿ ನಂತರ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಮಡಿಲಿಗೆ ಮರಳಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ. ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಫೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.ವೆಂಕಣ್ಣ ನೀಡಿದ ವಿಳಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಅತ್ಮೀಯರ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ತಾಯಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೃದಯಸ್ಪರ್ಶಿ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ತಾಯಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಕಂಡ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಧನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹಳ್ಳಿಯವರು ಹಾಗೂ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಕೂಡ ಸಹಾನುಭೂತಿಯ ಬೆಂಬಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ದುರ್ಬಲವಾಗಿದೆ.ಈ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಹಸ್ತಕ್ಷೇಪವು ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿರುಕುಬಿಟ್ಟ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ಸಮಾಧಾನ, ಸಂತೋಷ ಮತ್ತು ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಬದುಕಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು.
