Manjeshwar, April 27, 2025 — In a commendable display of compassion and swift action, the Snehalaya Psycho Social Response Cell (SPSRC) team successfully rescued a 65-year-old man, identified as Mr. Narayan, from Tumainadu Street on Saturday morning.

The rescue operation was initiated at approximately 9:30 a.m., following an alert from a concerned citizen, Mr. Muneer, who noticed the elderly man in visible distress.

Upon arrival, the SPSRC team found Mr. Narayan in a deteriorated state. His personal hygiene was poor, and he was dressed in shabby clothing. Witnesses and responders noted that he exhibited confused speech and showed signs of recent alcohol consumption. Mr. Narayan communicated primarily in Tulu and Kannada and claimed Mangalore as his hometown.

During the initial assessment, Mr. Narayan displayed decreased psychomotor activity, suggesting potential underlying physical or psychological health issues that required immediate attention.

The SPSRC team has taken Mr. Narayan under their care and is preparing to provide comprehensive support, including medical and psychological evaluation, treatment, and efforts toward reuniting him with his family.
