Manjeshwar: In a heartfelt celebration of International Women’s Day, the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre came alive with vibrant energy and profound messages of empowerment. The theme, “Strong Women, Strong World,” resonated throughout the event, highlighting the strength and resilience of women in building a better future.
The celebration was graced by esteemed guests, including Sr. Maria Leonilla, Superior of Seva Convent in Pavoor; Mrs. Gangadevi, Anganwadi Teacher from Bachalike; Dr. Jesvin Lia Johnson, Psychiatrist; and Mrs. Olivia KL, Co-Founder, Trustee, and Secretary of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, who presided over the program. Each guest inspired the gathering with their heartfelt speeches, acknowledging the incredible fortitude of women and their indispensable role in society.
The day was made even more special by the presence of Br. Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, and Rev. Fr. Cyril Dsouza, the Chaplain of the center. Together, they blessed the occasion, adding a spiritual depth to the celebrations.
The event opened with a warm welcome by Mr. Clint Joseph, Head of the Clinical Department at Snehalaya, followed by the masterful compering of Mr. Drupad and Mrs. Fareeda, both from the clinical staff. Their efforts kept the celebration joyful and engaging for all.
The program was a colorful and joyous affair, with both residents and staff coming together to honor the spirit of womanhood. Through music, speeches, and heartfelt connections, the celebration stood as a testament to Snehalaya’s dedication to empowering women and fostering gender equality.
