On August 1, 2024, Mrs. Olivia Crasta, Trustee and Secretary of Snehalaya, along with Mr. Basavaraj, a staff member of the Shraddha Rehabilitation Foundation in Mumbai, and the Snehalaya team, rescued an elderly man, approximately 75 years old, from Mangalore Central Railway Station. He was admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for Men.
Due to the care and treatment provided at Snehalaya, his address was successfully traced. On August 23, 2024, his son and family arrived at Snehalaya from Kozhikode, Kerala. They were overjoyed to see him after one month. Gopalan, who suffers from age-related issues and wandering tendencies, was reunited with his family. They expressed their deep gratitude to Snehalaya for their selfless efforts in making this reunion possible.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 01.08.2024 ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಒಲಿವಿಯಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರು, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂಬೈಯ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಸವರಾಜ್ ಅವರ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ರೈಲ್ವೇ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಪ್ಲಾಟ್ ಫಾರ್ಮನಲ್ಲಿ ಊದಿಕೊಂಡ ಕಾಲಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ 75ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಿಂದ ಆತನ ಅರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂತು, ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಆತನ ವಿಳಾಸವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.ದಿನಾಂಕ 23.08.2024ರಂದು ಕೇರಳದ ಕೋಝಿಕ್ಕೋಡ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಿಂದ ಆತನ ಮಗ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಟಂಬಸ್ಥರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದರು, ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಆತನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಖುಷಿಪಟ್ಟರು, ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ಅವರ ಮಗ ಜೋತಿಶ್ ನೀಡಿದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಗೋಪಾಲನ್ ವೃದ್ದಾಪ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂದಿಸಿದ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಊರು ಅಲೆದಾಡುವ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನದ ಪುಣ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಕುಟುಂಬಿಕರು ತುಂಬು ಹೃದಯದ ಕೃತಜ್ನತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
