A person named Manikanta, approximately 27 years old, was found wandering on the streets near Adi Udupi. He was rescued by Mr. Vishu Shetty Ambalpadi, a social worker, and admitted to Snehlaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for Men in Manjeshwar with the help of Udupi town police.
Manikanta is suffering from mental illness and exhibits symptoms such as wandering and aggressive behavior. He speaks Hindi, Malayalam, and English, and claims to be from Tamilnadu. He has mentioned that his father’s name is Palani Swami.

ದಿನಾಂಕ 25/05/2024 ರಂದು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಆದಿ ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತಿದ್ದ ಕೇರಳ ಮೂಲದ ಮಣಿಕಂಠ ಎಂಬ 27 ವರ್ಷದ ಯುವಕನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಶು ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅಂಬಲಪಾಡಿಯವರು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಉಡುಪಿ ನಗರ ಪೋಲಿಸರ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.
