On October 2, 2023, a woman named Laxmi, who was found wandering near AJ Hospital in Mangalore, was rescued and subsequently admitted to the Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for Women by Mrs. Olivia Crasta, the trustee cum secretary of Snehalaya Charitable Trust.
At the time of admission, Laxmi was suffering from psychological illness and was addicted to substance use. However, after receiving care and treatment at Snehalaya, her condition improved, and she began to share her whereabouts during counseling sessions. For her further reunion process, she was transferred to Shraddha Mumbai.
On February 1, 2024, Laxmi was successfully reunited with her family in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh, after a separation of one year. The family expressed overwhelming joy at seeing her again. According to the family, Laxmi, who was involved in a fight with neighbors, left her home in anger. They conveyed their gratitude towards Snehalaya and Shraddha Centres for their selfless service.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 02/10/2023ರಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿ ಹಾಗು ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಒಲಿವಿಯಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾರವರು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಕುಂಟಿಕಾನದ ಎ. ಜೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಬಳಿಯ ಬೀದಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 43ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಎಂಬ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.
ದಾಖಲಾತಿಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಖಿನ್ನತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತಿದ್ದು,ಅತಿಯಾದ ತಂಬಾಕು ಸೇವನೆಯ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಳು. ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಿಂದ ಆಕೆಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡು ಬಂತು ಅಂತೆಯೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಆಪ್ತ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಅಲ್ಪ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕಂಡಳು ಅಂತೆಯ ಈ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸುಗಮವಾಗಿಸಲು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂಬೈಯ ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 01/02/2024ರಂದು ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಶಹಜಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಕೆಯ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವಾಯಿತು. ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂಪಡೆದು ಆಕೆಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಕಣ್ಣಿರಿಟ್ಟನು. ಕುಟುಂಬಿಕರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ನೆರಮನೆಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆದ ಯಾವುದೆ ಒಂದು ಗಲಾಟೆಯಿಂದ ಸಿಟ್ಟಲ್ಲಿ ಮನೆಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಳು. ಕುಟುಂಬವು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಈ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ಲಾಘನೆ ನೀಡಿತು.
