On June 14, 2019, a person named Ashraf, who was wandering on the streets of Hampankatte, Mangalore, was rescued and admitted to Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre for Men by Mr. Prakash Pinto, Trustee of Snehalaya, and his friend, Mr. Gration Lobo, for his better care and treatment.
After receiving essential care and treatment at Snehalaya, his condition started to improve. In the counseling sessions, he began to share information about his whereabouts. The Snehalaya team was finally able to find his address and trace his family.
On January 17, 2024, his reunion took place with his family in Kurumbathur village of Mallapuram district. His father received him, and they were overjoyed to see him back after being separated for so many years. The family expressed their gratitude towards snehalaya.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 14.06.2019ರಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಹಂಪನಕಟ್ಟೆ ಬಳಿಯ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತಿದ್ದ ಅಶ್ರಫ್ ಎಂಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಪಿಂಟೋರವರು ಅವರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಾದ ಗ್ರೆಶನ್ ಲೋಬೊರವರ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತಿದ್ದ ಅಶ್ರಫ್ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆತ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯಿಂದ ಆತನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಕಂಡು ಬಂತು ಅಂತೆಯೆ ಆಪ್ತ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಹಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನ ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.
ದಿನಾಂಕ 17.01.2024ರಂದು ಕೇರಳದ ಮಲ್ಲಾಪುರಂ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕುರುಂಬತ್ತೂರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆತನ ಪುನರ್ಮಿಲನವಾಯಿತು. ಆತನ ಪೋಷಕರು
ಇಷ್ಟು ವರ್ಷದ ಬಳಿಕ ಮಗನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ತುಂಬು ಹೃದಯದ ಕೃತಜ್ನತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
