On August 17, 2023, a destitute man named Vilas, approximately 38 years old, was rescued from the streets of Madanthyar, Mangalore, and admitted to Snehalaya Psycho Social Rehabilitation Centre for men by Mr. Stephan Monteiro. Vilas was found wandering aimlessly on the streets, displaying signs of poor self-care and wearing shabby attire. It was evident that he was in a mentally fragile state.Vilas was observed to be conversing in both Telugu and Kannada languages. Upon further examination, it was discovered that he was suffering from a mental illness, highlighting the dire need for intervention and support.

In an effort to ensure Vilas receives the necessary care and attention, he has been admitted to Snehalaya. The center’s dedicated team of professionals will work toward his rehabilitation and recovery, aiming to improve his overall well-being and mental health.

ದಿನಾಂಕ 17/08/2023 ರಂದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮಡಂತ್ಯಾರಿನ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತಿದ್ದ ವಿಲಾಸ್ ಎಂಬ 38ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸ್ಟೀಫನ್ ಮೊಂತೆರೊರವರು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ  ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ  ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರು.

ರೋಗಿಯು ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡಿ, ವಾಹನಗಳಿಗೆ ತೊಂದರೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತಿದ್ದನು. ಆತ ತೆಲುಗು ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡುತಿದ್ದು, ತನ್ನ ಊರು ಆಂಧ್ರ ಪ್ರದೇಶವೆನ್ನುತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಖಿನ್ನತೆಯಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತಿದ್ದು , ಈಗ ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
