A destitute aged about 36 years was found wandering on the streets of Naguri Mangalore. Mr. Jeethan Kumar rescued him and as he was with poor hygiene and without food and care he brought him to Snehalaya Manjeshwar and requested to admit at Snehalaya Psycho Rehabilitation Centre.

After his admission on 20/12/2022 at Snehalaya,  along with food and accommodation, he was provided with proper care and treatment. Since he was not knowing his name Social Workers of Snehalaya named him as Chetan.  Along with timely food, medicines, and personal care, he was made to participate in various therapeutic activities. Slowly his physical and mental condition improved and he shared his whereabouts. Based on this information team Snehalaya tried to trace his family. And finally succeeded in getting the contact details of his mother who was living at Kombalagodu near Bidadi of Bangalore.

Today on 03/05/2023 his Mother Sarojamma reached Snehalaya and met her son who was missing for a year. She was happy to see her son, who developed psychiatric issues 10 years back, after the death of his father. His original name is Vinay and he is having an elder brother married and having his a family. Mother met her son after a year and assured the proper care and treatment of her son Vinay. She was grateful to Brother Joseph Crasta Founder of Snehalaya and his team for their selfless effort in treating and reuniting her son.

ಸುಮಾರು 36 ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕನೊಬ್ಬ   ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ನಾಗುರಿಯ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಶ್ರೀ ಜೀತನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರು. ಆತನು ಕಳಪೆ ನೈರ್ಮಲ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಆಹಾರ – ಆರೈಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು    ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆತಂದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ದಿನಾಂಕ 20/12/2022 ರಂದು  ಆತನನ್ನು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಖಲಿ ಸಲಾಯಿತು.

  ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಾದ ನಂತರ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರ ಮತ್ತು ವಸತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆತನ ಹೆಸರು ತಿಳಿಯದ ಕಾರಣ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಕರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಚೇತನ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಸಿದರು . ಸಮಯೋಚಿತ ಆಹಾರ, ಔಷಧಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಆರೈಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆತನು ವಿವಿಧ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಕ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೆರೇಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು . ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ದೈಹಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಸುಧಾರಿಸಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡನು . ಈ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಆಧರಿಸಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ತಂಡವು ಆತನ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿತು . ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬಿಡದಿ ಬಳಿಯ ಕೊಂಬಳಗೋಡು ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ವಿವರ ಪಡೆಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸೇವಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾದರು.

ಇಂದು ದಿನಾಂಕ 03/05/2023 ರಂದು ಅವರ ತಾಯಿ ಸರೋಜಮ್ಮ ರವರು ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕಾಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾದರು. 10 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ   ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮರಣದ ನಂತರ ಮನೋವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ಹಾಗೂ ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ನಾಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು  ನೋಡಿ ತಾಯಿ ಸಂತೋಷಗೊಂಡಳು . ಆತನ ಮೂಲ ಹೆಸರು ವಿನಯ್ ಮತ್ತು ಆತನು ವಿವಾಹಿತ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು  ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ನಂತರ ತಾಯಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾದರು. ಸರೋಜಮ್ಮರವರು ತನ್ನ ಮಗ ವಿನಯ್‌ನ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಆರೈಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಂದುಗೂಡಿಸುವ ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಸ್ನೇಹಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ  ಬ್ರದರ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ   ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
