Under Pratyasha Project for the reunion process Akhbar Ali Yane Mr. Nirmal Pal aged 50 was brought to Snehalaya, Manjeshwar from Teresa Bhavan, Kannur. He was admitted at Snehalaya on 17.03.2022 and the treatment was continued as prescribed by the Psychiatric Doctor. He was encouraged to participate in all the Social and Therapeutic activities. During the counselling sessions he shared a few information about his family and native place. Based on this information our Team Members contacted Police, Panchayath and Local Leaders and coordinated with them to trace his family . Social Workers of Snehalaya came to know that he hails from Gopalpur, Paraganas District, West Bengal.
Our team contacted his family and had telephonic conversations with his brother Sunil Pal. Team Snehalaya started their journey to Gopalpur in West Bengal and reunited Nirmal with his brother Sunil Pal on 13/04/22. Akhbar Ali’s original name was Nirmal Pal and his brother told that Nirmal is married and has seven sons. Unfortunately, his wife also has psychiatric problems. He was suffering from mental illness since 17 years and went missing 16 years ago.
The family members accepted Nirmal Pal and assured a good care of him. They were thankful towards Snehalaya, Manjeshwar and Teresa Bhavan, Kannur for their kind gesture and initiative to reunite him with his family.
