On 22nd October 2020, a request from Mrs Jacintha Lobo, of Kollangana seeking help for the treatment of her daughter Olivia Varghese who is suffering from cancer. Upon interacting with the family members her half built house structure, 3 teenage bright girls studying, Jacientha working as domestic help, constant medical need for the daughter had shattered the family as her husband had abandoned the family. After reviewing the request, an appeal through audio visual was posted on the youtube channel on 16th November 2020. There was a astounding response to help the family. One of the donor sponsored the complete medical expenses of the girl child and that was the most need of the hour.
By the grace of God, prayers of the kind hearted, the financial support of donor and positive spirit of the child the girl has completed her chemo and recovered fully.
Meanwhile Snehalaya started the construction works through a local committed mason, Mr Wilson Rodrigues a great social worker himself who completed the house in just 3 months.The newly built house was inaugurated on 31-01-2021and there was no bounds to the joy on the faces of the beneficiaries.
The House blessing was done by Fr. Rithesh Rodrigues.Mr.Dylan D Silva an entrepreneur carried out the process of handing over of the house symbolically. Mr. John Maxim D Souza unveiled the name plate of the house, JV D Mello and Ravi Naikapu were guests of honor. Raju Stephen, Fr. Felix Noronha, Trustees of Snehalaya were present. Mr Wilson Rodrigues a sincere dedicated Mason who had shouldered the complete construction responsibilities was honored. The representatives of various donors were present to witness the day.
The guests and especially Shri John maxim provided them all the required items to their new house, as they had nothing of their own. Mr. Geo D Silva compared the programe with a key note address.
